Man arrested after two-hour operation at former police academy in Apeldoorn

Dutch special intervention officers arrested a man on Monday evening at a former police academy in Apeldoorn.

The operation at the building on De Kleiberg lasted more than two hours.

A local emergency-news reporter said the man was a squatter who had caused disturbances before.

The building has not served as a police academy since 2010 and is in western Apeldoorn.

The reason for the officers' operation is not known, so it is unclear what prompted their response.

No further steps or updates were reported.
