Finecut Sells Two Korean Films to International Markets

Seoul-based Finecut secured international sales for two Korean films at a market held alongside the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Journey There sold to buyers in Japan, Israel, Mongolia and Taiwan, with a separate company acquiring its inflight rights.

Directed by Kim Jin-yu, the drama follows a woman who starts planning a new journey after her husband dies, and it is Justin H. Min’s first Korean production.

The film opened in South Korea on Oct.

28 after festival screenings.

Hong Sangsoo’s Nowhere to Lay My Eyes added sales in four territories, following earlier deals in other markets.

It follows a woman visiting her mother on Jeju Island with her brother after they have been apart for a decade, and it won three prizes at the Locarno Film Festival.

Finecut’s next market is the American Film Market, where its slate includes other films.
