Prince Daniel cancels official duties with a cold
Prince Daniel has cancelled several public duties in Sweden because he has a cold.
The 53-year-old was due to accompany his wife, Crown Princess Victoria, on a two-day visit to Västernorrland in northern Sweden.
Victoria will make the trip alone, including stops in Rotsidan and Härnösand.
Daniel has also withdrawn from the WASP Academia and Industry Days event in Stockholm and missed earlier appearances with Victoria.
The palace said he chose to stay home to recover and avoid exposing people he was due to meet.
His recovery matters for upcoming royal duties, including a state visit by Singapore’s president from 19 to 21 October.
The palace hopes he will be well enough to take part, but it has not said how long he will need to rest.
