HBO's Harry Potter Series Casts James and Lily Potter
HBO has cast Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn as James and Lily Potter in its new Harry Potter series.
The couple are Harry’s parents, who were killed by Lord Voldemort when Harry was a baby.
In the first season, they are expected to appear at least in the Mirror of Erised, which shows Harry longing to be with his family.
The books establish that James and Lily were only 21 when they died, while the actors who played them in the films were older.
Talbot and Chinn are screen newcomers, and their backgrounds suggest they are around 23 to 25, though their exact ages are not known.
The casting reflects the characters’ youth, which is important to a story about young people caught up in war and sacrifice.
The first season is due to premiere on December 25, 2026.
