The Janata Dal (United) marked its 23rd foundation day on October 30 in Bihar.

Party leaders credited national president Nitish Kumar with helping advance the state’s development.

The party was founded in 2003, and Kumar took charge of Bihar in November 2005.

Leaders said his approach focused on development, social justice and good governance, as well as women’s empowerment.

State president Umesh Singh Kushwaha called Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar, Nitish Kumar’s son, a future leader of the party.

The JD(U) plans Good Governance Day events across Bihar on November 24, with minister Leshi Singh coordinating them.
