GOG Galaxy revamp is planned for Linux, Windows and Mac in 2027

GOG plans to revamp its Galaxy game launcher in 2027 and bring it to Linux, as well as update its Windows and Mac versions.

Galaxy was designed to bring games from different PC stores into one hub, but its 2.0 version remained in beta and performed poorly.

The redesign is meant to make the client simpler and faster and improve how players view their game libraries.

GOG says using Galaxy will remain optional, and players can still download offline installers for games they own.

The Linux launch adds GOG's launcher to another PC platform, where players already use tools such as Heroic, Faugus and Lutris to manage games from different stores.

GOG also announced GOG Social, a community space for game discussions, images, videos and polls.

Players can sign up for beta tests of Galaxy and GOG Social.
