Indonesia Seeks Rp 750 Trillion More in Tax Revenue by Year-End

Indonesia’s tax office has collected Rp 1,607 trillion by the end of September, or 68.2% of its 2026 target of Rp 2,357 trillion.

Tax revenue was up 24.1% from the same point in the year before, but about Rp 750 trillion is still needed to meet the target.

The Directorate General of Taxes, part of the Finance Ministry, says it will work to raise the remaining amount from October through December.

It plans to use tax data to improve checks, audits and enforcement, and to identify taxes that have not yet been collected.

Measures include collecting taxes on foreign digital transactions and income tax through online marketplaces, as well as reducing some tax penalties.

The tax office will also focus on business areas including online trade, fuel sales, manufacturing, mining, transport, storage and business services.

It says it has coordinated with regional offices and will continue the effort through December.
