Indian shares set for higher open as GIFT Nifty signals gains
Indian shares were expected to open higher on Monday, with GIFT Nifty trading about 0.9% above the previous Nifty futures close.
The forecast followed a week in which the Sensex rose 1.82% and the Nifty gained 2%.
The Sensex closed Friday at 74,459.53, while the Nifty ended at 23,053.10, after both indexes advanced.
Asian markets were lower on Monday, while US stock futures were higher after a sharp fall on Friday.
Investors were watching efforts to ease the US-Iran conflict, as a breakthrough could reduce concerns about oil supplies and crude prices.

A move above 75,000 could signal further gains, while a fall below support could lead to profit-taking.
