Brazil releases extra PIS/Pasep payments for about 1 million workers

Brazil is releasing an extra PIS/Pasep payment round on Thursday for workers who missed earlier payments or whose records were corrected later.

The payments cover about 1.03 million private-sector workers and public servants with work recorded in 2024.

Employers must have sent or corrected their records between September 1, 2025, and June 20, 2026, for workers to be included in this round.

The government is distributing R$804.2 million, with individual payments from R$136 to R$1,621 depending on how many months a person worked in 2024.

To qualify, workers generally need at least five years of PIS/Pasep registration, at least 30 days of work in 2024, and average monthly pay of no more than R$2,766 that year.

Workers can check their eligibility and payment details in the Digital Work Card app or on the Gov.br portal; Caixa and Banco do Brasil handle payments to eligible recipients.

The money can be claimed until December 30, 2026.
