Driver in Vannes used his brother’s identity during police check

Police stopped a 28-year-old driver in Vannes, western France, on Wednesday morning.

His vehicle was in very poor condition, and he had no driving licence, registration document or insurance.

At the police station, officers found he had given them his brother’s identity.

Police checks also showed that he was not in order administratively, which he acknowledged.

He was released after questioning and summoned to appear before a judge on 26 May 2027.

Police said he had previously been known for driving without a licence.
