EC says previously enrolled voters can use Form 6 to restore names
The Election Commission says previously enrolled voters can use Form 6 to seek inclusion if their names are missing from draft rolls during the Special Intensive Revision.
The clarification follows a Supreme Court request concerning nearly 4.3 million Delhi residents removed after they could not be found at their last known addresses.
The court said people who appeared on the 2026 rolls should not have to reapply as new voters, and suggested Form 8 or the enumeration process instead.
The commission said voters may submit Form 6 even if they were enrolled before, after some feared its declaration would be false.
In Telangana, voters have also been deleted after address-change applications and enumeration forms were not handled together.
Some voters lost their names despite applying to change address, and officials did not always notify them before deletion.
The commission's clarification gives affected voters a route to seek inclusion, while activists have called for immediate compliance with the court's direction.

What people are saying
Therefore, such electors believe that submission of Form 6, in view of their previous enrolment, would amount to making a false declaration and render them liable for prosecution under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950
We haven’t received any SOPs or instructions from the ECI to get people placed under ASDD categories to fill Form8
We collected our Enumeration Forms during the SIR process, but did not submit it thinking that we would get our names included at the old address. Now, we have found out that our names are deleted, with the remark that we were ‘untraceable’
