ASIC security and data chiefs to leave in December

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is recruiting for new security and data chiefs after two senior executives resigned.

Chief information security officer Jamie Norton is expected to stay until mid-December, while data, analytics and AI leader Graham Jefferson will leave in December.

ASIC has not appointed interim replacements and has begun formal recruitment for both roles.

Jefferson’s position is being renamed chief data and analytics officer.

The incoming security chief will join ASIC during the third year of a four-year cybersecurity transformation program.

ASIC has also created a contract CTO role for RegistryConnect, its program to stabilise and improve business registers through the end of the 2027-28 financial year.

The new CTO will report to senior responsible officer Paul Franklin and oversee technology and security work on the program.
