Dutch zookeeper dies after leopard attack at Beekse Bergen
A zookeeper at Beekse Bergen died on Tuesday, days after a leopard attack in the Netherlands.
She was caring for two Persian leopards in an indoor enclosure at the safari park in the country’s south.
The leopards had been brought inside because of bad weather, and staff are usually kept away from them.
She suffered serious head and neck injuries and underwent emergency surgery, but did not survive.
The park will launch an independent investigation because it is not clear what happened inside the enclosure, which has no cameras.
The park says the leopards were behaving naturally and will not be euthanised.
