Stranded mother thanks stranger after fatal M5 crash closure

A man died after a two-vehicle crash on the M5 in Somerset on October 13.

The crash led to the northbound motorway being partly closed between Taunton and Bridgwater, causing long delays.

A mother from Barnstaple was stuck for four hours with her five-year-old son during the closure.

A stranger came to their car, checked on the boy and gave him snacks and a drink.

The mother publicly thanked the stranger and said his kindness made the wait easier for her son.

She hopes her message reaches the man, but no further action is described.
