Chinese universities and cultural institutions form arts education network

Chinese universities and cultural institutions form arts education network

At a forum in Beijing, 31 universities and 11 cultural and arts institutions launched a new arts education network.

The initiative aims to share teaching resources and expertise through joint courses, teacher exchanges, research and arts activities.

It plans to connect university teaching with cultural work outside campuses and make greater use of revolutionary history and art.

The network is intended to help students engage with Chinese history and culture through the arts.

The figures given for its founding members do not match: the account lists 31 universities and 11 institutions, while a university official described 41 members in total.

A joint proposal invited more universities and cultural organizations to work together, but no timetable for further steps was given.

An exhibition at the forum also presented selected work from universities in areas including art, design, music and digital arts.
