X begins rolling out a faster version of its web app
X is rolling out a redesigned web app that it says is much faster than the old one.
The update is arriving for signed-in users one country at a time, while the logged-out site already has the new version.
X engineer Yagiz Nizipli said a profile page on a slow connection could take more than 22 seconds to show its first post before; the new app does it in 2.7 seconds, he said.
The redesign also combines three servers that X previously used for people, search crawlers and link previews into one.
Security researcher Jane Manchun Wong, who said she had access to the new app, described it as fast and polished.
The faster loading could make X easier to use, especially on slow connections.
X has not said when the rollout will reach all signed-in users.
