Indonesia exchange caps daily share price drops at 7%
Indonesia’s stock exchange lowered the daily limit on share price declines to 7% starting October 19, 2026.
The change applies to shares priced above Rp10, while shares priced from Rp1 to Rp10 keep their existing Rp1 limit in either direction.
For shares above Rp10, the previous limit on daily declines was 15%; the limits on price increases remain unchanged.
This makes the rule asymmetric, restricting falls more tightly than rises.
The exchange says the temporary measure applies in both the regular and cash markets.
It is intended to limit how far share prices can fall in one trading day.
The rule is set to run until December 31, 2026, and the exchange will review it in light of market conditions.
