NOS launches redesigned studio and look for its evening news
The NOS 8 p.m.
news debuted a redesigned studio in the Netherlands on Sunday.
The same studio is used for other NOS programmes, including the 6 p.m.
news, the children’s news and Nieuwsuur.
The previous set had been used for ten years and was worn out and difficult to adapt.
NOS says the new look is meant to make its journalism clearer and easier to recognize as news reaches audiences across TV, websites and social media.
The broadcaster wants reliable, independent reporting to stand out in a media landscape shaped by fragmentation and algorithms.
The studio is ready for augmented and extended reality, which NOS plans to use more in the coming months when it supports the story; visual changes to its online platforms are also planned.
NOS introduced a redesigned look and a completely renovated studio for its 8 p.m. evening news.
The studio in Hilversum is also used by other NOS programmes, including the 6 p.m. news and Nieuwsuur.
The previous studio had been used for ten years and about 20,000 broadcasts.
NOS said the changes aim to make its journalism more accessible and its stories easier to recognize.
Further design changes to NOS online platforms are expected in the coming period.
