Indonesia’s IHSG Seen Vulnerable to Further Losses

Analysts expect Indonesia’s IHSG may fall in Friday’s trading, although they see some chance of a limited rise.

The IHSG is the country’s main share index, tracking the performance of stocks traded on the Indonesian market.

The index closed at 5,030 on Thursday, up 2.25% from the previous session.

One analyst sees a possible decline toward 4,763–4,807, while another says the index could rise toward 5,143 if it stays above 4,876.

A drop below 4,876 could extend the decline toward 4,737, according to the second analyst.

The different forecasts show that the index’s direction remains uncertain, so investors are watching its support and resistance levels.

The next trading session is Friday, when the index’s movement will test those forecasts.

The position of the IHSG is expected to remain part of wave (v) of wave [v], so the next correction area can be watched in the range of 4,763-4,807. Although it is still possible for a further rise to test 5,143 as resistance.

The IHSG will open the way to continue the downward trend toward the Fibonacci projection target of 4,737 if it starts falling below 4,876. However, as long as it remains above that level, the IHSG can continue rising to test the daily fractal at 5,143.
