Ollamani reports 967.8 million pesos in losses from World Cup operations
Ollamani reported 967.8 million pesos in operating losses from World Cup-related operations over two quarters.
The Mexico-based company, which includes Club América, said the losses included 557.2 million pesos from April to June and 410.6 million from July to September.
In the third quarter, stadium and hospitality income did not cover the costs of the tournament-related work.
Ollamani’s subsidiary agreed to pay 62.4 million dollars for tickets allocated to private box owners, while the stadium renovation cost more than 2.3 billion pesos.
Renovation work paused events at Estadio Banorte, and Club América played home matches at another stadium during that period.
The company also paid for production, transport, security and operations, including for the FIFA Fan Festival in Mexico City.
Ollamani says these costs were temporary and unusual, and that its regular football business made an operating profit of 73.1 million pesos in the third quarter.

The losses covered two quarters: 557.2 million pesos from April to June and 410.6 million pesos from July to September.
World Cup-related activities generated 287.8 million pesos in revenue in the third quarter, but the amount did not cover expenses.
Ollamani attributed the losses to costs including stadium work, hospitality and ticket arrangements, and tournament operations.
The company said the expenses were extraordinary and temporary and did not reflect its usual business performance.
