Hugo Eric Flores apologises to Morelos for backing Cuauhtémoc Blanco
Hugo Eric Flores apologised to the people of Morelos for helping Cuauhtémoc Blanco become governor in 2018.
Flores, who leads the PAZ party and formerly served as a federal lawmaker for Morena, said an apology was not enough given Blanco’s record.
In 2017, Flores invited Blanco, then mayor of Cuernavaca and a former footballer, to run for governor.
Blanco won the 2018 election with 52.59% of the vote as the candidate of a coalition that included Morena, the PES and the PT.
Blanco is now a federal lawmaker, and Flores has also called him violent and condemned his reaction to reporters asking about claims that his wife was held at a New York airport.
Blanco denied the information, and the account gives no further steps in the matter.

What people are saying
I ask Morelos for absolute forgiveness for having nominated Cuauhtémoc Blanco in 2018; an apology seems too little to me.
Cuauhtémoc gets angry about everything and curses about everything. But that is not going to change the way he is. I insist: that is how Cuauhtémoc is and he will always have a violent reaction.
I do not want to say that it is right; on the contrary, I condemn it.
Cuauhtémoc Blanco is going to be a candidate for governor. He is an honest man. He is a leader; in the party we are looking for emerging leaders.
