Bit2Me STX gets approval to operate a tokenized securities exchange

Spain’s CNMV approved Bit2Me STX to operate as a trading and settlement system for tokenized assets.

The company says this makes it the first tokenized securities exchange in Spain and Europe.

The platform can offer shares, bonds and investment funds, with trading around the clock and instant settlement.

Its CEO, Javier Tordable, says STX is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and private markets, rather than large listed companies.

Eleven projects are interested in joining, including growth companies and investment funds; two already trade on Spain’s BME exchange.

The exchange aims to bring private companies new financing and liquidity, and Bit2Me says its listings cost 90% less than traditional ones.

For now, STX cannot work with companies valued at more than €9 billion, but Tordable expects that restriction to be lifted within a year to 18 months.
