Jacaranda identifies copper trend at Botswana’s Motloutse project

Jacaranda Natural Resources found a copper trend at Tlou, a target within its Motloutse project in eastern Botswana.

The trend runs for about 50 metres through a historical pit, and eight of 12 samples there had more than 1% copper.

Across Motloutse, the company collected 23 rock-chip samples from six pits; results ranged from 0.14% to 2.00%, with a repeat test confirming a peak of 2.09%.

The surface copper has not been tested at depth, so the company wants to drill beneath it to look for primary copper mineralisation.

Botswana is seeking to diversify its mining sector, where diamonds account for about 70% of exports.

Drilling is targeted for December 2026 to February 2027, after more mapping and sampling and subject to approvals and the drilling rig finishing work at Jacaranda’s Globe project.

The assays confirm what we observed in the field, with rock chips up to 2.0% Cu and more than half the samples above 1% Cu.

We will move the rig to Motloutse once phase one at Globe is complete, subject to approvals, and test what lies beneath the oxide copper.
