Daniel Lissing Says a Return to When Calls the Heart Is Unlikely

Daniel Lissing thinks he is unlikely to return to Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart.

His character, Jack Thornton, was written out after season five, when he died in a landslide while saving two men.

Lissing left the show by choice, and the role was not recast.

The show never found Jack’s body, which led Lissing to joke that Jack might be alive with amnesia.

Lissing has appeared as Jack in a flashback for the spin-off When Hope Calls, and said working with Hallmark has been a pleasure.

He thinks viewers and the show have moved on, so a return remains uncertain.

Well, let me just say, flashbacks or dream sequences… they never found the body. Maybe he’s out there somewhere with amnesia… he’s like a carpenter, or something. He’s hobbling around with a sore knee. They’re like, ‘Jack, is that you?!’ He’s like, ‘Who are you?’ I don’t know… But yes, of course, we have a long relationship with Hallmark and working with them has been a real pleasure. So, you never know. I think everyone’s kind of moved on from Jack.
