OpenAI plans to merge Chat and Work in ChatGPT
OpenAI plans to combine Chat and Work into one experience in its ChatGPT desktop app.
The change is meant to let people move from discussing an idea to asking ChatGPT to carry it out in the same place.
Users will be able to bring in files and plugins and ask ChatGPT to make things such as websites or presentations, while reviewing its work.
The company will test the change with select users before making it more widely available.
Codex, another section of the desktop app, will remain separate.
ChatGPT and Codex will use one shared token allowance, the units that the services draw on.
OpenAI says most users will not be affected, though some may need to wait more often for their allowance to reset, depending on usage and model.
