Bolivia orders three Brazilians held for 180 days over jewelry store robbery

A court in Santa Cruz de la Sierra ordered three Brazilians held for 180 days while authorities investigate a jewelry store robbery.

The men, Sandro Roberto da Silva Júnior, Edson Lins Porsincula and Marcio Reis dos Santos, were sent to Palmasola prison.

The robbery targeted a jewelry store in the Bolivian city, and authorities have recovered some of the stolen items.

The three deny taking part in the crime, while prosecutors say the evidence supports keeping them in custody during the investigation.

A fourth suspect remains at large, and authorities say he may have left with most of the stolen jewelry.

The case also involves allegations of links between some suspects and Brazil’s Comando Vermelho criminal group, which officials say operates in Bolivia.

Investigators are still searching for the fourth suspect and have not released further details.
