Three people arrested during ram-raid at Hermès store in Dijon

Three people were arrested during a break-in at a Hermès store in central Dijon, France, early on October 30.

Police arrived while they were loading goods into a second car, after another car was used to smash through the store’s metal shutter and a window.

The suspects, aged 18, 24 and 25, are in custody; one is known to the justice system.

The stolen goods included scarves and perfumes, though the sources do not give a total value.

The second car had been reported stolen in Switzerland, with one account saying it was reported stolen on October 27.

The store suffered extensive damage, and its director said it would not reopen for about ten days.

Police are investigating suspected organized theft, with the case assigned to a specialized national police division.
