Gibran’s Lawyers Show Education Records in Jakarta Court Case
Gibran’s lawyers presented his education records in a Jakarta administrative court hearing on Thursday.
The documents covered schooling from primary school through his bachelor’s degree, including studies in Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom.
His lawyers said he completed a pre-university pathway through UTS Insearch and Singapore’s MDIS before studying at the University of Bradford.
The case concerns documents about whether his overseas education met Indonesian requirements for the vice-presidency.
In an earlier election dispute, Indonesia’s Constitutional Court said it had not found convincing evidence of the relevant qualification documents, but ruled it could not disqualify Gibran after he had taken office.
The lawyers said they submitted the records to the court as evidence in the current case.
The opposing legal team announced it was withdrawing its lawsuit and left the hearing.

The documents shown included records from primary and junior secondary school, schools in Singapore and Australia, MDIS, and the University of Bradford.
Lawyer Adil Supatra Akbar said the records showed Gibran completed education from primary school through a bachelor’s degree under the rules of the countries where he studied.
The lawyers said UTS Insearch records showed Gibran completed 90 percent of its subjects, which MDIS used as the basis for transferring credits.
The lawyers said they submitted the full set of records to the court, while claimant Denny Indrayana and his team announced they were withdrawing the lawsuit and leaving the hearing.
