Dark Souls 2 and 3 online servers go offline on all platforms

FromSoftware has taken Dark Souls 2 and 3 servers offline on all platforms because of a server issue.

The shutdown affects online play, including co-op, player invasions and messages left in the games.

The developer has not explained the issue or set a return time, and says it will share updates when it knows more.

Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 are older games, released in 2014 and 2016, but their online features remain part of how players interact.

The outage follows a much longer shutdown in 2022, when security concerns took the PC servers for all three Dark Souls games offline for much of the year.

That history leaves players uncertain about how long this outage could last.

For now, players must wait for FromSoftware's restoration update before those online features return.
