Feijóo calls for strong support for political change at Málaga rally
PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo called for strong support to form a government and bring what he described as clear change in Spain.
Speaking at a rally in Málaga alongside regional leader Juanma Moreno, he promised a government focused on work and management.
The rally came after a crash in Urda killed 69 people, affecting Málaga because the damaged rail line serves the city.
Feijóo also referred to a separate deadly accident in Adamuz and blamed the national government, calling the crashes the result of continuing negligence.
He said the rail corridor needs a full safety audit before normal service returns, and that safety should take priority over speed.
The line is used by 32,000 people a day, according to Feijóo.
He also pledged not to pardon politicians convicted of corruption if his party forms a government.

What people are saying
I have come to raise up the country.
We will not put a date ahead of safety. We will not put haste ahead of people’s lives.
This is not a tragedy, but continuing negligence by the Government.
One of the commitments I make publicly is that my government will never pardon a politician convicted of corruption.
