Stellantis worker seriously injured in accident at Trémery factory

A 47-year-old worker was seriously injured shortly after midnight at Stellantis’s factory in Trémery, in Moselle, eastern France.

His leg became trapped in machinery in the factory’s cylinder-head production workshop, and a metal bar pierced the back of his thigh.

His life is not in danger, and he was taken to Mercy hospital for treatment.

The cause and precise circumstances of the accident are not yet known.

Stellantis and workplace safety investigators have opened inquiries, and a gendarmerie investigation is also under way.

The production line was stopped on Wednesday while initial checks were carried out.
