Police sought to give LFI MP Raphaël Arnault a summons, not arrest him

LFI said police tried to arrest its MP Raphaël Arnault at Paris’s Gare de Lyon.

A source close to the investigation said officers were instead trying to deliver him a summons, not arrest him.

The summons was linked to investigations into the killing of Quentin Deranque.

Deranque, a young activist, was killed in February during clashes in Lyon with the Jeune Garde movement.

Arnault created the Jeune Garde and represents the Vaucluse for LFI.

The two accounts describe different purposes for the police visit, and no further steps are specified.
