Milano beats Treviso 106-77 for its first league loss

Olimpia Milano beat Treviso 106-77 in Italy’s basketball league.

Treviso had won its first two league games, so this was its first defeat of the season.

Milano, the reigning Italian champion, took control with a 33-11 second quarter and widened its lead after halftime.

Jason Burnell led Milano with 19 points, while Ousmane Diop scored 15.

The win came after Milano had a difficult start to the season, and the club had reaffirmed its confidence in head coach Peppe Poeta.

Milano is 2-1 in league play and has a 1-3 record in the EuroLeague.

Its next game is at home against Real Madrid on Tuesday, October 13.
