Four arrested over alleged sale of India-West Indies T20I passes
Hyderabad Police arrested four people over the alleged sale of complimentary passes for the fourth India-West Indies T20 International.
The match was scheduled at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, and police seized 11 passes marked “NOT FOR SALE”.
Those arrested include a Hyderabad Cricket Association member, his son and two other men.
Police allege the passes were offered on WhatsApp and Instagram for between Rs 3,500 and Rs 6,000 each, and that around nine had been sold.
The case raises questions about how the association distributed the passes, which were not meant to be sold.
Police say they will ask the association how many passes were issued to its member, while the investigation continues.
Fans have been urged to use authorised ticket channels; police warned that buying or selling these passes could lead to legal action.
