One Nation volunteer hospitalised after alleged baseball bat assault

A 60-year-old One Nation volunteer was allegedly assaulted at his home in Torquay, Victoria, on Sunday night.

Police say he was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

One Nation Victoria leader Warren Pickering said the incident began after an altercation over party signs at the property; police have not stated a motive.

One Nation Victoria condemned the alleged attack, saying political violence and intimidation are unacceptable.

Police arrested a 37-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy in connection with the assault.

The adult has been charged with assault offences, while the teenager was issued a caution.

The 37-year-old is due in court on November 10 after being remanded.
