South Korean and Bangladeshi leaders discuss trade and investment

South Korean business leaders and a Bangladeshi delegation met in Seoul on November 2 to discuss economic ties.

Bangladesh’s Planning and Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury was visiting South Korea from November 1 to 6 with officials from his government.

The meeting, hosted by the Federation of Korean Industries and Yeongone Group, focused on expanding trade and investment between the two countries.

Participants also discussed cooperation between industries and business opportunities in Bangladesh, whose market they described as having growth potential.

Yeongone Group has operated in Bangladesh since 1980 and has helped develop the country’s garment industry, a major part of its economy.

During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet South Korean government officials and companies, and visit financial, technology and port facilities, to explore wider areas for cooperation.
