Renegades beat Hurricanes on final-ball no-ball in WBBL thriller

The Melbourne Renegades beat the Hobart Hurricanes by four wickets in a close Women's Big Bash League match in Hobart.

The teams were level at 154 with one ball left, and Renegades batter Deandra Dottin could not score from it.

Replays showed Hurricanes wicketkeeper Lizelle Lee took the ball in front of the stumps, which made the delivery a no-ball under cricket's rules.

That call gave the Renegades the run they needed to win, just as players were preparing for a Super Over.

The Renegades earned their first win of the tournament, while the Hurricanes remained winless after three games.

Hobart captain Nicola Carey scored 62, and Renegades opener Hayley Matthews made 59; the Hurricanes also face concern over Chinelle Henry, who left the field with a suspected hip injury.
