Hyundai Motor Securities introduces pension liability analysis system

Hyundai Motor Securities has introduced a pension analysis system for companies in South Korea.

Defined-benefit plans set workers’ retirement benefits using factors such as their pay and years of service.

The system estimates companies’ current and future pension liabilities by analysing their workforce, pay structures and retirement patterns.

It also tests how changes in interest rates, wage growth and staff departures could affect those liabilities.

Companies can use the results to plan pension fund investments and payments and check whether they will have enough money available when benefits are due.

The firm plans to extend its consulting to smaller and mid-sized businesses, which it says should be possible because the system speeds up analysis.
