Seat and Cupra sales rise 9% in Spain but fall globally

Seat and Cupra sold 76,066 cars in Spain from January to September 2026, 9% more than a year earlier.

The brands, which belong to Germany’s Volkswagen Group, together held 8.3% of Spain’s car market.

Seat sold 52,660 cars in Spain, while Cupra sold 23,406, a 21.4% increase.

Their global sales moved in the opposite direction, falling 1.4% to 433,400 cars over the same period.

Cupra’s growth in Spain was helped by its Raval electric car, which has received 51,000 orders worldwide, while the Formentor was its best-selling model in Spain.

Cupra expects record sales in Spain in 2026, topping its previous high of 26,589 cars set last year.
