Korean retailers promote beauty and fashion brands at Melbourne fair
At the Melbourne Hallyu Expo, held November 5–7, Korean companies promoted beauty and fashion brands to Australian shoppers and buyers.
Hyundai Department Store and partner Mediquitous presented products from 13 Korean brands, including skincare and fashion labels.
Hyundai said about 10,000 people visited its booth over two days.
Kolmar Korea joined with six client companies and held about 150 export consultations worth 6.8 billion won.
The event also drew consumer interest: Kolmar estimated that around 15,000 visitors came to its booth during two days of public events.
Australia is an important market because imports of Korean skincare products rose 42.1% last year, and Korea held 19.5% of the market in the first half of this year.
Kolmar says it will keep helping clients expand in Australia and overseas.

Oceania, including Australia, is a market with strong growth potential, as interest in Korean culture is rising rapidly while opportunities to experience Korean culture and brands remain relatively limited.
Through this fair, we were able to showcase the competitiveness of K-beauty products to local buyers and consumers together with our client companies.
