Truck overturns on Zaragoza’s Z-40, injuring driver

A truck left Zaragoza’s Z-40 early Friday and fell down an embankment beside the Valdespartera fairground.

The truck came to rest behind the circus tent while the fairground was still open, but no one was in that area at the time.

The driver was injured and taken to Miguel Servet Hospital after firefighters spent about two hours freeing him from the vehicle.

Reports differ on whether his injuries were serious; one says he had leg injuries and was recovering in hospital.

A car had reportedly broken down on the road after hitting an obstacle, and the truck was unable to avoid it.

The crash damaged the road and the truck, but one report said traffic was not affected.
