BRS accuses Telangana government decisions of hurting Singareni
BRS leader T. Harish Rao accused Telangana’s Congress government of hurting Singareni Collieries’ performance.
Singareni is a coal company whose workers’ issues were the focus of a meeting in Hyderabad.
Rao said workers had traditionally received a share of profits before the Dasara festival, but the government had not declared a bonus.
He said workers’ profit share fell from 32% under the previous BRS government to 12.5% in 2024–25.
Singareni’s profits rose to ₹6,394 crore in 2024–25, but this year’s figure is not yet public.
Rao said profits this year might not exceed ₹1,800 crore and blamed delays in tenders and other administrative decisions, not workers.
He also alleged that the government had stopped implementing a scheme to give eligible workers ownership of their homes and plots.
