Harry Kane says Virat Kohli congratulated him on Ballon d’Or win

Harry Kane said Virat Kohli congratulated him after Kane won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, football’s top individual award.

The England captain plays for Bayern Munich, while Kohli is one of India’s leading cricketers.

Kane said he also heard from people he admires, including David Beckham, Tom Brady and musician Ed Sheeran.

Kane scored 73 goals during the 2025-26 season, helping him win the award.

He finished ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal in the voting.

Kohli praised Kane’s resilience and hard work in a message posted on X. Their exchange reflects how sporting figures can follow and admire athletes beyond their own sports.
