Valencia and Villarreal name lineups for Mestalla derby

Valencia and Villarreal have named their starting teams for Saturday’s La Liga match at Mestalla in Valencia.

It is described as the clubs’ final meeting at the old Mestalla ground.

Valencia are 19th with six points after nine league games, and need a win to improve their position.

Villarreal are 12th with nine points and are also seeking a stronger run of results.

Valencia’s announced starters include Luis Rioja and Arnaut Danjuma, while Villarreal include Gerard Moreno and Ayoze Pérez.

Villarreal played Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, and their coach has had to consider fatigue and injuries when choosing the team.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 18:30 local time, and the result will decide which side leaves with the points.
