Movistar Plus+ films ‘Ceremonia’ about Barcelona’s 1992 Olympic opening

Movistar Plus+ is filming Ceremonia, a comedy set in Barcelona in 1991 as a team prepares the opening ceremony for the 1992 Olympic Games.

The story follows a group of professionals tasked with creating the ceremony, a major event that required a collective effort.

David Verdaguer plays Miguel, a behind-the-scenes talent, and Paula Malia plays Júlia, a new producer.

Andreu Buenafuente, Silvia Abril and other actors are also in the cast, and filming is taking place around Barcelona.

The ceremony helped present Barcelona as a modern, creative city, according to the series’ creators.

The six-episode series is due to premiere in 2027 on Movistar Plus+.
