The Odyssey Drives Record Imax Revenue and Box Office in Third Quarter

Imax posted record results for the third quarter, with $712 million in global box office and revenue of about $175 million.

The Odyssey brought in more than $550 million on Imax screens worldwide, making it the company’s highest-grossing Imax title ever.

The film is a Christopher Nolan epic, and its 70mm Imax screenings helped draw audiences during a continuing recovery in movie theaters.

Imax’s net income rose more than 400 percent from the same quarter a year earlier, to $117.1 million.

The company expects to exceed its 2026 box-office target of $1.4 billion, which it had previously described as a record.

Imax has signed agreements for more than 100 theater systems worldwide this year, and its upcoming releases include Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday later in 2026, followed by several major films in 2027.
