China's Eighth Central Inspection Round to Focus on Education Ministry and Universities
China's central inspection system is beginning its eighth round of inspections, focused on the Ministry of Education and centrally managed universities.
Li Xi, a senior Communist Party official who leads the central inspection work group, addressed the planning meeting in Beijing.
The inspections are part of the party's system for supervising its own organizations and checking how policies are carried out.
Inspectors will examine how schools implement national higher-education policies, develop education, science and talent together, and carry out their teaching mission.
They will also check risk prevention and party governance, including leadership teams and local party organizations.
The stated aim is to identify and address serious problems and support higher-quality development in higher education.
Officials said the work must be carried out in an orderly and disciplined way, but gave no inspection schedule or results.
China’s eighth Central Inspection Round will inspect the Ministry of Education and centrally managed universities.
The round will examine how they implement central decisions on higher education and carry out the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education.
It will also review work to integrate education, science and technology, and talent development, as well as efforts to manage risks.
The inspection will assess party governance, leadership and staff teams, and grassroots party organizations.
Li Xi said the inspections should help strengthen party leadership and support high-quality development of higher education.
