Pokémon UNITE will shut down globally on March 23, 2027

The Pokémon Company will end Pokémon UNITE on March 23, 2027 at 9 a.m.

Japan time.

The shutdown applies to the Nintendo Switch game and its iOS and Android versions, including the global service.

Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play team battle game in which two teams of five compete using Pokémon.

It launched on Switch in July 2021, later reached mobile phones, and passed 200 million downloads worldwide by July 2025.

Gem sales and new or automatic membership renewals stopped on October 27, 2026, though players can use existing gems and current memberships until they expire.

Special events and an update, including a feature to view some player records and collected items after shutdown, are planned for November 12.

Players must download the required library data by the shutdown date to use that feature afterward, and online battles and logins will no longer be available.

The planned Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competition will go ahead, with qualifying events starting December 5, 2026; unused paid gems will be eligible for refunds after the service ends.
