Coronation Street plans major 2027 storyline for Glenda Shuttleworth

Coronation Street is planning a major storyline for Glenda Shuttleworth in 2027.

Producer Kate Brooks said it is expected to reach screens around March and will explore Glenda more deeply.

Glenda, played by Jodie Prenger, is George Shuttleworth’s sister and has been part of the show for four years.

The story will include a possible new love interest, though Brooks said it will cover more than romance.

The news was shared ahead of a special episode in which Debbie Webster gathers Glenda and four other close friends for a drinks night.

The evening brings personal revelations and difficult choices for the women, while a separate storyline about Christina’s granddaughter Lucy is also ongoing.

Viewers can expect Glenda’s story around March 2027, but further details have not been announced.
