Turkey’s intelligence chief urges closer cooperation across the Turkic world

At a forum on the Turkic world, Turkey’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin urged closer cooperation among its countries.

He said their intelligence agencies already work together on terrorism, human trafficking and other shared threats.

Kalin said the guiding principle is that no country is safe unless all are safe.

He also said the Organization of Turkic States does not threaten any third party and seeks relations based on mutual interests.

The region matters, he said, because its countries have important roles in energy and food security.

Kalin said an alarm system lets partner agencies track emerging threats at the same time.
